In September, Scandinavian food specialists, ScandiKitchen, launched a collection of premium jams available through its website and on Ocado.
Produced in Sweden, the jams are a true taste of the Scandinavian landscape, available in three flavours (Wild Cloudberry, Wild Lingonberry and Wild Bilberry) and contain 55 per cent berries. The berries are all hand foraged and lovingly made in small batches by a family owned producer to give body and texture to the jams.
ScandiKitchen describes the Wild Cloudberry as a truly unique jam with umami undertones. This versatile jam can stand up-to strong cheeses and is moreish heated up and poured over vanilla ice cream.
The Wild Lingonberry option has a full-bodied tart flavour and luscious rich texture. Classically paired with Swedish meatballs, it can also be simply spread on thick toast or swirled through piping hot porridge.
Finally, the Wild Bilberry is deep in colour, and packs a real flavour punch – ScandiKitchen suggests spreading it on ‘everything!’
