The hottest healthy eating trends are on the menu at Food Matters Live 2019

Discover the most exciting innovations, functional ingredients and nutritious products revolutionising the global food and drink industry at Food Matters Live 2019.

Returning for its sixth year to ExCeL London on 19-20 November, this two-day event brings together professionals from foodservice, retail, manufacturing and the nutrition sectors to join the debate about the trends, challenges and opportunities in food and drink.

With hundreds of entrepreneurs showcasing the latest healthy and sustainable products, live attractions, an unrivalled educational programme and networking opportunities, food and drink professionals cannot afford to miss this year’s event.

Food Matters Live’s popular seminar programme hosts 250 food, health and nutrition experts sharing best practice, insight and the latest R&D.

Grouped into six streams, seminars will cover issues as diverse as the technologies set to revolutionise food production and, as Leeds becomes the first UK city to report a reduction in childhood obesity, the most effective approaches to change dietary behaviour.

Exciting innovators
There is something for all tastes at the Food Matters Live 2019 exhibition, which includes the largest gathering of ingredients companies in the UK.

From insect-based protein snacks to natural sugar alternatives, hundreds of start-ups and food innovators will show off exciting healthy, sustainable, free-from, clean-label and functional products.

The most promising new start-ups, selected by a panel of influential buyers, will feature on the UK Future Brands pavilion, while the Plant-Based Pavilion will feature vegan products, and International Pavilions host ingredients and finished products from around the world.

Live attractions include international chefs and nutritionists demonstrating the health benefits of food from different culinary cultures in the International 13Innovations demonstration theatre.

Another live theatre, Future of Retail Trends, offers buyer insights into modern shopping trends, while Innovative Ingredients Live showcases the nutritional science behind emerging ingredients and nutraceuticals.

Networking opportunities
Food Matters Live is the only event bringing together manufacturers of healthy ingredients, nutraceuticals and finished products with leading buyers from across the UK – including manufacturers, private label producers, wholesalers and distributors.

Among networking opportunities on offer are educational roundtables aimed at giving international brands insight into the UK market, from packaging regulations to preparing for a post-Brexit world.

Food Matters Summit
Running in parallel with Food Matters Live this year, in ExCeL’s prestigious Platinum Suite, the new Food Matters Summit will bring together more than 100 top level international speakers to lead debate on the key issues for the global food and drink sector.

From a session celebrating the top 30 disruptors rethinking the way we source, produce, package and distribute food, to the race to develop alternative proteins as more people reduce their meat intake, the Food Matters Summit offers delegates unique learning and networking opportunities.

Among speakers confirmed so far are: Matthieu Benkerant, Group Open Innovation Director at Carrefour, DEFRA’s UK Food Surplus and Waste Champion Ben Elliot, and Heather Mills, founder of plant-based food company Vbites.
