PPMA Total Show 2019 is the leading UK show for processing and packaging machinery

With over 350 exhibitors (comprising over 1500 brands) showcasing a host of new product launches and the latest technological innovations, the PPMA Total Show will highlight every aspect of the production line; from labelling, filling and packaging machinery, to processing equipment, robotics, automation and industrial vision systems.

The Total Show is free to attend and comprises numerous seminars, an enterprise zone (for networking and sharing knowledge) and a first-class speaker line-up; which seeks to address key industry issues, and an Industry Awards evening. All in all, it offers a unique, informative and value-added visitor experience.

Food and beverage
In addition to being Britain’s largest private sector employer (source: IGD), the Food Sector is a major contributor to the UK economy. The sector is growing, offering innovative approaches to food development and manufacturing. Spending on food continues to rise, with manufacturers focused on meeting the needs of our increasingly busy life styles and sophisticated tastes.

In light of the often complex series of steps involved in the manufacture, processing and packaging of food, this year’s PPMA Show will offer 18visitors valuable insight into the major trends and new technology impacting the industry. From productivity transformations to the latest discoveries in labelling and packaging, they can find ideas to grow their business and meet the people who can make it happen.

The PPMA Show will include food sector specialists keen to review and purchase new machinery, decision-makers seeking to streamline food production and packaging processes and potentially to explore greener ways to do so and business owners requiring good quality networking opportunities.

Some examples of the tech on show include new slicers, dicers and mincers to reduce processing time, the latest extruding machines and depositors in action and new mixing and refrigeration technology, as well as the latest solutions in weighing, bagging, case sealing and packing and palletising.

Seeing new technology in action is the best way to prove its viability. For those visitors looking for Beverages solutions, they will be able to see close up how the Beverages sector can benefit from the very latest processing, manufacturing and packaging technology, the latest production-boosting techniques to maximise efficiency and production and new knowledge of key safety measures, consumer preferences and industry trends.

And of course, the disposability and sustainability of drinks packaging has never been higher on the political and business agenda, so at the PPMA Show exhibitors who fully support these issues and can demonstrate solutions will be on hand to discuss new innovations and concepts.

The Bakery sector is also well represented at PPMA 2019 – visitors can see how new technology can solve the challenges of product shelf-life, baking trends, environmental and health concerns, waste minimisation and numerous other issues affecting the bakery sector in 2019 and beyond. Solutions on show will include flow wrapping, bagging, case packaging, sealing, tray sealing and branding solutions.

The organisers of PPMA 2019 have also highlighted solutions for the Confectionery Packaging Sector. The quest to combine taste whilst reducing sugar content in response to government guidelines and consumer demand has created a significant challenge for manufacturers of chocolate, candy, gum, toffees and many other types of sweets and confectionery. The price-rise in raw materials has also impacted this sector. Moreover, resilient ways to package and present products in an over-crowded marketplace must be done with an eye to sustainability and environmental concerns.

The 2018 PPMA Show will help visitors address all these issues, and more. With practical, live demonstrations of brand-new technology to streamline pulling, cooking, batch rolling and batch cooking, visitors will find valuable fresh ideas to incorporate into their businesses.

Organised by the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA), which comprises the PPMA, British Automation & Robot Association (BARA) and the UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA), The PPMA Total Show is the UK’s leading processing & packaging machinery event with over 30 years’ history of attracting high-quality visitors. Bigger than last year’s event, PPMA shouldn’t be missed!
